I find it kind of funny that this article calls out Kate Mulgrew as a Star Trek vet, mentions co-star Cillian O’Sullivan has appeared in SNW, and then never mentions that Colm Meaney was on DS9.

Though officially it's an open question, I think Alex Kurtzman is done with Star Trek. His "farewell letter" for Starfleet Academy (compared to SNW) reads like someone trying to remind the next person given the reins what Star Trek is and what running it means.
