I do disagree with #MarkRober here, cuz "#Fencing", like any #paid-for / financially incentivized #crime is a mere #symptom and not root cause.

Almost all people ain't criminals by conviction but by the fact that honest "alternatives" either don't exist at all or don't allow them to make ends meet.

Espechally in a place like #SanFrancisco and the #SFBA which is so #gentrified that #NIMBYs in #PaloAlto prevented a midrise apartment complex catering solely to elderly residents who get outclassed by #TechBros, thus making it impossible for many to stay in their neighbourhoods.

Most people generally want to just make ends meet, be able to face 3-4 digit surprise expenses without extreme anxiety and instead be able to occasionally do some consumer spending.

That's what I'd gather from the footage: None of the folks shown are above the median income of the US, in fact I'd be surprised if any of those were above the bottom 25%, with most in the bottom 1% - bottom 10% bracket just by my guesstimations.

I mean, yeah, someone making 100k isn't going to risk their "cushy" existance for less than what they make in a week after taxes, so that's really obvious.

So yeah, it kinda goes full circle, and the ones being shafted are the bottom 95% who's insurance premiums will only go up through no fault of their own...

@BPStuart this is what happens when you tell children they can be anything they want when they grow up. Not enough people saying "except that" when kids are saying the want to be trailer park white supremacists. That has to be it. There is no other logical explanation. In other news trailer parks are being #gentrified into the most adorable little mini house communes! I'm looking at a few in AK.

#Glasgow has become as much of nightmare to drive in as Edinburgh in the last few years. That is a big reason I stopped going.

Plus they killed #PaddysMarket and a lot of the quirkier places in Glasgow too. They've built up and over most of the interesting places to go. It has become too #Gentrified. Glasgow succeeds when it is rougher, not when it is Edinburgh-lite. If we wanted that, we'd go to #Ayr.

Als Befürworter des Genossenschaftsmodell hätte ich gern Hintergrundinformationen zu diesen #gentrified #Genossenschaft.s Wohnungen. 15% Mieterhöhung als Ausgleich von Kostensteigerungen über 5 Jahre wären ja Ok. In den letzten 5 Jahren sind die Kosten für Handwerker enorm gestiegen. Angekündigte Renovierungen oder Sanierungen sind auch Ok, wenn viele Jahre nichts passiert ist.
Kennt ihr die Leute, die im Aufsichtsrat der #Geno sitzen?

My old #neighborhood got #gentrified. Now I ask...if the people who used to live in #BarrrioLogan were migrant workers and the gentrifiers have forced almost all migrants out, then who does what the migrants used to do?

What do #gentrifiers do when they price themselves out of the #realestate #market?

Who pushes gentrifiers out of the neighborhood? What happens to gentrified neighborhoods?
