Trip: that's the name of the new character expected to appear in the upcoming title, Sonic Superstars.

The name was confirmed by Sonic creative officer Takashi Iizuka in a new interview with IGN, which was evidently chosen due to Trip's stumbling nature.

The character of the North Star Islands, designed by Naoto Ohshima, will join alongside fellow antagonists Doctor Eggman and Fang the Sniper.
