Due to scheduled data center maintenance, the #GalaxyEurope compute cluster will not be available on April 9.

This means all running jobs will be stopped and restarted by us as soon as the maintenance work is completed. You will not lose any data and the Galaxy website will still be reachable, but jobs will not start (remain gray). Uploading data and downloading entire histories will not be possible.

We will keep you updated here (and via Galaxy's notification system) about the concrete timeline and possible delays of the work.

Thanks for your understanding and for using Galaxy!

#UseGalaxy

Today's keynote is being delivered by Ute Gunsenheimer, Secretary General
of the #EOSC Association, who will be highlighting how #UseGalaxy fits
into the European Open Science Cloud.

and, @elixir_europe, in the afternoon we will have the meeting of the #Elixir Galaxy community.

It is very rewarding and motivating to see Galaxy integrated so well into the European science and science infrastructure landscape and that #GalaxyEurope can contribute to this!

Galaxy Community Hub - Galaxy Community Hub

All about Galaxy and its community.

Huge thanks to @ElectronicBlueberry for not just the implementation, but also for writing the article!

This is a wonderful feature with great potential to reduce friction in Galaxy tool use even further.

Linking from tool forms to the Help Forum, https://help.galaxyproject.org/, was first discussed at the European Galaxy Days at @unifreiburg last autumn and we are happy to be able to offer it to our users on #GalaxyEurope now as part of our earlier update to Galaxy release 24.0. (2/3)

Galaxy Community Help

Earlier today we have followed the lead of the Galaxy U.S. team and have switched #GalaxyEurope to the pre-release of Galaxy 24.0.

This upcoming release has a good number of user-facing improvements that we would like to give you access to as early as possible - check out the new Workflows card view or the workflow editor, or opt in to the beta version of the Activity Bar from your user preferences, for example.

@happykhan @galaxyproject thought this was a good opportunity to test Galaxy's file format autodetection.

I've downloaded your archive from #Zenodo, unpacked it and uploaded the files to #GalaxyEurope leaving file format at "Autodetect".

Galaxy | Europe

Galaxy is a community-driven web-based analysis platform for life science research.

What else happened before lunch?

1. Anne Hartebrodt gave a very intriguing talk about more sustainable computing. Her suggestions are inspiring and there will be a BoF later today on reducing the environmental impact of Galaxy workflow runs.
2. Mehmet Tekman entertained us with a transcriptomics quiz generator he created and wants to turn into a #GalaxyEurope webhook.
3. @volodymyr presented early, but already impressive work on making Galaxy an attractive platform for the astronomy community
