"On Tuesday, some moderate Democrats privately and publicly argued a more centrist candidate might have won, or come closer to it, reflecting the party's debate over whether to nominate 'electable' moderates or progressives who energize young voters."

What a surprise: quislings argue the opposition should run more quislings.

One of the biggest lessons of last year was that the 'choice' presented here is a false framing: as the tax firehose is connected ever more directly to the bank accounts of our #AmericanOligarchs, and #AgolfShitler rails about human garbage while he prepares to deploy the #TurdReich's #ICEtapo against another nonwhite community, Americans WANT radicals who will actually wrest power back for 'We, the People' -- of EVERY color, creed, origin, and identity -- and hold fascists ACCOUNTABLE for their crimes.

Not 'moderates' who want to act like we're still playing politics, when it's long since seen "the addition of other means."

Yesterday's results in Tennessee say more about the state of play in districts torn between LIKING the #fascism -- but NOT liking suffering its effects THEMSELVES -- than they do about what fascism's electable OPPONENTS look like.

And i say that as a lifelong CONSERVATIVE, and #GOPRefugee.

Cheers and alarm: 4 takeaways from the GOP's win in Tennessee

Republicans cheered the victory while fretting over the latest evidence that voters are cooling on Trump's agenda and his handling of the economy.

Axios

The Republican congressional caucus ONLY EXISTS to make #AgolfShitler a DE FACTO dictator for as long as it takes to make him a DE JURE one. That's the only purpose theyll honor.

And that's why they must ALL be voted out, while 'We, the People' retain that ability.

"Constitution viewed Congress as the foundation of republican governance, deliberately placing it first in Article 1 to underscore its primacy. "Trump has signed more than 210 executive orders, a pace faster than any president since FDR. The Republican Congress has shown little interest in pushing back on any of them. Trump has also aggressively reorganized, defunded or simply deleted entire agencies, such as the U.S. Agency for International Development and the CFPB." https://www.salon.com/2025/11/01/house-inaction-amid-shutdown-helps-pave-the-way-for-congress-irrelevance_partner/

Bluesky Social

Apropos of nothing, it strikes me that we might, maybe, WANT TO CHALLENGE the framing of political violence against the #TurdReich as "left-wing political violence."

Conservatives, Reagan Republicans & unrepentant neocons, and #GOPRefugee's can be antifascist too. 😅

Just posted this over on LinkedIn:

A Call to Action, for Fellow #GOPRefugee's

As I've reflected further on this today, what started out to be a reminder of one of the facts of Trump's rise to power that I've personally found most frustrating has evolved into a call to action--for those in the categories I'm about to name, and for ANY of us who have watched OUR political party turn away from us toward fascism, pushing us to ally with the one whose policies we've most often OPPOSED...but which continues to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States" like so many of us swore our Oath to do.

See, while Stephen Miller--who somehow manages to be BOTH Goebbels & Eichmann rolled into one, for the #TurdReich--would LOVE to cast this in terms of "the left," one of the most astounding things about Trump's political successes has been how consistently his opposition has come NOT just from the left, but with equal (sometimes more!) stridency FROM THE (TRADITIONAL) AMERICAN RIGHT.

Remember the original NeverTrumpers? Almost the entire REPUBLICAN national security establishment left en masse--after TRYING to warn us BACK IN MARCH 2016 that Trump was a con man in league with the Russians, and manifestly unfit to be POTUS. There were even a significant number of old school, Reagan Republicans IN CONGRESS who saw through him from the beginning, and fought hard enough to oppose him that he put political targets on their backs and forced them out of the party (and generally into retirement).

And let us not forget that EVEN HALF OF HIS FIRST-TERM CABINET MEMBERS and other senior officials ultimately realized that NO number of "adults in the room" was going to be sufficient to keep him from doing irreversible damage to America's national interests; even jeopardizing THE SURVIVAL OF OUR DEMOCRACY, and urged us NOT to vote for him last year! "Unpresidented!"

So here's the call to action for these folks, many of whom are connected with me here: now would be a good time for us to make our voices heard. LOUD AND OFTEN. Trump and his allies disingenuously call for unity--let's GIVE it to them (and good!), reminding them of just how much--and just how long--America has been united AGAINST his motley gang of fascist white nationalists, misogynists, Russian agents, and concentration camp enthusiasts.

Because if you DON'T like political violence, next year's elections may be our last chance to avoid a choice between it and the Christofascist Gilead of their dreams.

Former Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan runs for Georgia governor — as a Democrat

Duncan clashed with President Donald Trump over his baseless allegations of election fraud in the 2020 election in Georgia.

Current Republicans are not like old Republicans. “Federal judges are retiring at a historically slow pace at the onset of President Donald Trump’s second term, most strikingly among those appointed by his Republican predecessors,” Bloomberg Law reports. “Few of the roughly 70 Republican-appointed judges eligible to take a form of partial retirement or completely step down from the bench as of June 1 have done so, denying Trump the chance to pick their replacement.”

#TodaysGOP is a hostile foreign terrorist organization at war with the Constitution of the United States. It needs to be banned as such, and anyone who's run under its banner in the last decade disenfranchised for life as a traitor.

Then the Democrats can finally split into Establishment Democrats (who are really Republican Lite ANYHOW) and Progressives, and America will genuinely have a conservative party vs. a liberal party again, who BOTH believe in the Constitution and democracy!
