The time of "free" TV in the UK is slowly drawing to a close....

Oooh, a new Freesat Recorder box from Manhattan.
Hadn’t heard Freesat had discontinued their in-house designed Recordable box. It was never as well thought of as the previous generation Humax DVR/PVR boxes.
This new box is welcome news. I have always liked Manhattan’s non-recordable Freesat boxes, and still regularly use their SX model in one room.

I only wanted to find out what changes were coming to #freesat with channel changes next week
I've come away knowing that #Astra will be defunct by 2030.
#freeview probably won't make it past 2035.
#TV will only come houses through the internet into a dedicated box without an aerial socket.
There'll be no such thing as scheduling. recording to watch later will be history. Adverts will be pay to avoid ONLY.
& If you're a #rural user with crap internet, it's pretty much tough shit.
Seems it has decided that it no longer wants to talk to the LNB. Plugged the co-ax into the satellite input on the TV. Perfect picture straight away.
Never buy the official #Freesat box. It's been a pain in the arse from new one way or another. Sadly the only competition they had in the UK, Humax, has left the market. Which I suppose is how they get away with selling a crap product for premium money.
Someone at https://www.ideal35.fr/ asked how to watch British TV because the options on Orange were terrible.
I live close enough to use #FreeSat and run my own VPN, so I don't use anyone else's services to do this.
I just wondered which DNS or VPN providers sell an endpoint in the UK which isn't constantly blocked by the UK TV companies.
Anyone else in the UK having problems with FreeSat tonight?
And by 'problems' I mean no signal?
#FreeSat #NoSignal #FreeSatDown
Bummer.
