It's been five minutes now. Fucking #Freesat box of shit ๐Ÿ˜

Seems it has decided that it no longer wants to talk to the LNB. Plugged the co-ax into the satellite input on the TV. Perfect picture straight away.

Never buy the official #Freesat box. It's been a pain in the arse from new one way or another. Sadly the only competition they had in the UK, Humax, has left the market. Which I suppose is how they get away with selling a crap product for premium money.

@snaprails just get a GTmedia V7X / V8 reciever...

@kkarhan That doesnโ€™t appear to do anything much more than the decoder built into my tv. Given how little live tv I watch I think Iโ€™ll stick with that.

Oh and Humax are still in the uk but only seem to do Freeview boxes now.

@snaprails okay, that makes sense.

Thought you'd also want something for Sky and other PayTV as an option.

@kkarhan Don't need Sky or any other pay TV apart from my Apple TV sub.
But I'll bear those devices in mind if that changes ๐Ÿ™‚

@snaprails
Will this be the Arris Freesat box?

If it is, I've never heard anything good about them.

I've got two ancient Humax Freesat boxes that still function perfectly. I don't know what I'll do when they go pop.

@MikeFromLFE It's the "official" Freesat PVR looks like this picture. Don't know who threw it together.
The HDD, or maybe the HDD controller in my Humax packed in after many years and I needed to record some stuff so bought this as it was all I could get quickly.
I rarely record stuff now so could use the Humax for live or since it seems to work well enough, just the LG TV.
