THE HBC BRIGADES, BLOGPOST:
George Stewart Simpson was the illegitimate son of Governor George Simpson, of the HBC, and with his brother, John, he worked west of the Rocky Mountains for most of his career. for part of his time he was assistant to my great-grandfather Alexander Caulfield Anderson (who I think had little use for him). Here is George's story: #BCHistory #VictoriaHistory #FortVictoria http://nancymargueriteanderson.com/simpson/
YORK FACTORY EXPRESS, BLOGPOST:
Both Henry James Warre, and Mervin Vavasour, were British or Canadian spies who came to the Columbia in autumn, 1845, and returned to Canada in the outgoing York Factory Express of 1846. Warre was also an artist and painted many scenes of the Columbia District during the time he spent on the coast. #HBC #History $WAHistory #BritishColumbiaHistory #FortVictoria #BCHistory #Blogpost http://nancymargueriteanderson.com/henry-james-warre/
