If I upgrade now, I'm looking more at different form factors than a more powerful version of what I already have. I'm reading enough about the Pixel Fold to probably hold off until next year's version of the device, BUT I am looking closely at the new RAZR flip phone (everything old is new again).
I like the vertical fold for size reasons. Would purchase Samsung's version if I could get something closer to stock Android on it.

Motorola has announced two new flip-style foldables: the 2023 Razr and Razr Plus. The standard Razr offers a smaller cover screen, while the Razr Plus comes with a big 3.6-inch front display that you can use to run apps and type out emails — all without opening the phone.
I know that this is hardly scientific, but it's interesting that The Verge is scoring the Pixel Fold the same as it scored the original Surface Duo (6 out of 10). I would have expected a stronger initial showing from Google.
(Maybe it was good fortune that Google cancelled my order out of the blue!)
