i got my hands on a couple of #mollies, albino gold, platinum tricolor, platinum zebra, and red zebra. now only missing electric blue to collect all five of my dream strains π
absolutely gorgeous fish and i can't understand why they aren't popular or even available anywhere outside of the philippines.
...but yes, i have a penchant for top-view/pond fish more so than aquarium, so that might be why π
I understand why #Angelfish are among the most popular species βΊοΈ I could totally see myself going all in if I had the space for it lol.
I found this lone little guy at the pet store! They had no idea where he came from or that he was even there. looks like blond japan blue double sword, but the caudal fin is too green for that lineage. Am now breeding him with one of my blond females who carry lower sword and snakeskin gene. Let's see what comes of it! π
wtf π€£π€£π€£π€£
i have rewatched it 4 times now. still don't know wtf he was thinking but her follow up reaction cracks me up so bad.
finally! it just took a year! +perfect timing! i'm in the middle of retooling my hobby. getting rid of everything except:
- #angelfish pair (230l tank)
- #kribs pair (54l tank)
- #bettas (6x 43l breeder tanks)
- #guppies (3x 110l tanks)
- #CPD (54l tank)
as well as #ancistrus, #neocaridina and #aquariumplants, to maximize gains per tank. these are all the best to breed for trade- always in demand. good prices. only missing #medaka and #espei. no space tho.
that sole surviving fry of the super rare and hard to get fish which took me 4 years to track down took nearly 2 years to reach maturity and is indeed a female! now pregnant, after being exposed to the last two male for the past 6 months. separated them just in case anyone decides to go cannibal.
here's for hoping she has no complications with delivery and gives at least one male fry with the spotted gene and a few more females to start a proper colony!
At the end of last year, I wrote a rather lengthy article for the swedish guppy club newsletter, hoping it would be published in the january 2025 release. Sadly, they haven't published it yet, apparently there has been too few contributions this year and they have yet to publish any newsletter at all.
It would be a waste to have it go unpublished, so I just finished translating it and posted it to my Medium.
