Remember 2020–21? The "sudden" emergence, the lockdowns, the restricted access to protections, a cautious summer, lots of uncertainty, a "breakthrough in vaccination", a rapid vaccination campaign, caution thrown to the wind, the emergence of an immune evasive variant leading to an "undodgeable" Omicron-level event followed by Urgency of Normal… All of that's going to happen again. All the same mistakes, fumbles, and nonsense.
Why? Because most people aren't interested in substance or material reality. It's all just the recitation of learned rituals learned in a social setting, and everyone now has two years of experience in pandemic living. They know exactly what they did last time there was a pandemic, and they'll just do the same thing again this time, as if by habit, because there's only ever one goal: fit in.
