Kino International I

Das Kino International in der Ost-Berliner Karl-Marx-Allee. Eröffnet 1963 als Premierenkino der DEFA, dient es heute der Yorck-Gruppe als Programmkino. Im Frühjahr 2024 wurde es für eine denkmalgerechte Sanierung geschlossen und im Februar 2026 wieder eröffnet. Im Hintergrund das Rathaus Mitte. Aufgenommen im März 2026.

I wonder if the brighter areas are lens flare, or if sunlight found it's way into the camera in some other way that day. I probably should've closed the viewfinder shutter and put the cap on the lens in the long time between photos on that sunny day.

I finally got my film back. As this was about 15 year old Kodak VR Plus 400, I shot it at ISO 180. As expected, the colors look a bit weird, but what got me is the long exposure times. Seems like I was too optimistic about the steadiness of my hands. I'll try to use a different lab that offers digitalized scans next time as well. This time I had to take photos of the photos...

Guangxi 廣西, the southern (or western if you follow the #Chinese name) sister of Guangdong is particularly famous for its karst #mountains and river #landscapes. This characteristic is something the province shares with its neighbours Yunnan, Guizhou and even northern Vietnam.
They are impressive and stand serene in the #landscape, some of them can be scaled but many are untouched and mostly admired from below.
#Guangxi also is home to an interesting mix of cuisines and flavours as it is an important spot on trade routes between #China and Southeast #Asia. A trip to the province, especially outside of the more touristically developed cities of Guilin and Yangshou is a wonderful way to explore the cultural connections in the southern Chinese and northern SE Asian regions.
