We have been making desultory use of #Finch, the app that assists with self-care duties undertaken in concert with the adventures of a cute lil birb who asks curious questions and says affirming things. It's a bit maudlin for my tastes but I am trying to be less grumpy about things which seem too cutesy.

All the same I find myself thinking that a better app would have TWO birds or maybe even a trio and they'd have very different personalities. I wince a little bit when a computer program tells me it's proud of me. But I might respond better to a programmatic scold.
