@ami_angelwings For #FavCharacterAtoZ #FavCharacterC I think I'll choose El Chavo del Ocho. Again, watched that show so much. As most of Latin America did. The actors themselves, having moved on to other things, mostly circus, were amazed that a show they'd done decades before was still being watched and was still so beloved.

C is harder for me. Saw some good ones (Calvin of Calvin and Hobbes, Cheshire Cat, Columbo). But I think I’m going with Asimov’s Susan Calvin. As a teenager, one of the first, maybe the first, woman character I found where her brilliance was the central character trait.

I had a different character picked for this letter, one who has been a favorite since childhood, but this little monster has brought me so much joy as an adult that I couldn't not acknowledge him. The work of a gay artist (writer and sometimes director Don Mancini), there isn't a bad movie in the series and the television show is a delight.
CT@ami_angelwings There is a reason I'm using manga Briarios, and I want to pay him his due. Been through a lot, and of ultimate support in any situation. And a "giant moe man" before that was even a concept.
I'll be trying to stick to one character per series (unless a really important situation arises) so... sorry Deunan. But he'll let you hold his trophy anyway.

Is your main character the avatar of inspiration, love of game, and spreader of enthusiasm to each and every person she runs across? AND has the highest per-capita evocative expressions, including hilarious doomed faces?

Robert Hutchinson@ami_angelwings This one I don't have to struggle with: The Doctor, Star Trek: Voyager.
Start with Robert Picardo, an amazing actor. Then, even though it's "outsider looking in at humanity" for the fourth time in a row, and even though it's Voyager, manage to develop him as a character slowly but consistently over 7 seasons. And make him sarcastic, and arrogant, and half the time he's right to be arrogant and the other half he gets humbled.
I love The Doctor.
I actually assumed Columbo would show up a lot in #FavCharacterC but so far I haven't seen his name.
So I had a LOT of trouble with #FavCharacterC b/c I was trying to decide between Claire Redfield, Columbo & Cassandra Cain. I've decided to go off the board and go with...
Carrie Kelley from The Dark Knight Returns (which I enjoy, I know many people have qualms with it & I'm not uncritical but I like it), who is smart, brave, and has a lot of agency. She becomes Robin on her own, saves Batman multiple times and even breaks his orders to do so, displaying superior computer knowledge in the process. (I also love the generation gap between the two when Batman asked her where she learned to use computers because to Bruce computers are a Big Deal and she says "had to learn something in school" cuz kids grow up on computers now).
We just won't talk about the DKR sequels.
