Most #fanvids come from one source. A popular, though difficult style is the fandom overview. These are vids that try to tell an entire story thread in a series, like the extent of a romance.
They often include spoken excerpts. Some have no music. Others have music and words, or no words at all.

This one of Pursuit of Jade has a slow song that is a popular vidding song. There are lots of songs that people reuse across fandoms because of their easy pacing and length.

I found this jewel of a rairpair.
Irene Adler/Molly from the show Sherlock.

One of the things that makes this video interesting is how they added extra images of cats and volcanoes. I like the kitten turning into a panther.
Also this is a no-contact vid based on two characters who never met or talked in the show. Always a challenge to make it look natural.
This was a popular femslash ship because there were so few women in the show.

For example.In #Sherlock they introduced a mentally ill sister who did things that, in my opinion, didn't make sense, so I took the text of the show and created an alternate motivation for her. Selecting visuals such as a coffin that said "I love you" I altered the story from a threat on one of Sherlock's loved ones, to a confession of a lost/dead love. This was never said, but was presented in SUBTEXT by juxtaposition of images. Still one of my very favorite #fanvids
