As expected (given it was just a reorganization of Rev. 0), the new #Famiclone Dendy CPU clock multiplier works.

For people who just tuned in, this is a 1.25x clock multiplier that allows you to use some (most?) Dendy CPUs used in famiclones in your NTSC NES/Famicom/whatever.

You can solder this under your motherboard or between two sockets.

Dendy CPUs are much much cheaper than the proper NTSC variants.

@DosFox I ended up going for the pad connectors on a single side. Avoiding clearance issues with the LavaRGB module.

There's a certain charm in the ugliness of this #famiclone, isn't there?

At first we got a garbled screen. Cleaned the contacts. But then the black wire broke off. When keeping the power pressed with a finger we got it working. We tried heating up a screwdriver to solder the wire but couldn't get it warm enough. Not planning to buy a soldering iron, so we gave it up. Can't play AND hold the wire at the same time. #failureatthecave #famicom #famiclone #retrorevival

We got a used psu with 5-6V. No polarity protection meant we had to make sure which wire was positive or negative and resorted to cutting open the connector. Once we did that we connected it to the wires of the #famiclone. Time to test!

Opening up the #famiclone, it seems the pcb was designed for multiple purposes. It has markings for a volume button, DC jack and the case has a options for a speaker and screen, so it could also be a portable. No diode for polarity protection installed though. #famicom

I did buy a crappy screwdriver set for ¥330 so I can open up the #famiclone and hopefully get it to work tonight so we can play some of the #famicom games we got.
