Stephen GutknechtIf #Apple wanted to further #manipulate the minds of the audience, they would make a special model of iPhone with entirely new name, other than iPhone. 2x to 3x the amount of RAM, go beyond their typical low-RAM - and price it $700 higher profit margin (on top of the added price for the hardware differences). Run the CPU at 2% higher speed than the mainline models, bin the best chips. Then let tech people endlessly debate if that vast RAM makes any real-world difference.
Even if they sold nothing, it would be the exclusive casked Scotch Whiskey market icon. And it would play off the VERY LONG time trend of having too-little RAM in Macintosh, Apple laptops, etc. It would create perpetual analysis debate.
I haven't come up with any good names. Maybe "Apple iPhone" this model would be called "Apple PowerUser"... again, I can't come up with any good names. but entirely not "iPhone" in the name. Wealthy product owners like confusing symbolism to the poors.
