oh, hey, #AMD finally updated the Unreal #FSR2 plugin for UE 5.3.

And good news! It doesn't have anywhere near the same performance overhead as TSR in VR.

Unfortunately, it looks like absolute dogshit.

It's more or less fine when not moving, or moving artificially, but as you move the headset, everything falls apart. It seems like it's not getting the motion vectors from the headset movement or something? TSR doesn't fall apart this way.

Hrm. Looks like I've gotta build Unreal from source to use the FSR2 plugin. Not just because they recommend some additional patches, but because they don't have a 5.3 plugin, and it won't build if I try to add the plugin at a project level.

@AndyGER @gamingonlinux #fsr3 requires motion vectors like #fsr2, which precludes a universal solution like #fsr1 did with RSR. The universal fluid frames are a driver level implementation and from what AMD says seems almost like a hack. It couldn’t be implemented universally without driver support for your GPU

Wow! The Steam Deck continues to impress me. I started Spider-Man Remastered tonight and I'm getting above 40fps swinging through the city and in missions I'm getting 50-60. High Textures and Medium most other stuff except Shadows and Vehicle/People Density. FSR 2.1 is very impressive. I have the game set to 600p too. I ran Cryo Utilities with recommended settings as well.
