I met Dr. Bowman maybe twice (memory cheats). I worked on the Florida #Grasshopper #Sparrow (#FGSP) project he led out of the #Archbold Biological Institute...I worked Avon Park AFB. We found and banded a single male that year, who then...promptly disappeared without a trace...as was the fashion in Florida Grasshopper Sparrow culture at that time.... He seemed a very nice person, but as I stated I hardly knew him but was touched by his work.
