@LovingFalloutLondon1954 @rocketsoup When I read this, i felt like the geochemists in the XKCD cartoon (https://xkcd.com/2501). Surely everyone must know about Klein Bottles! 🙂

In #education, we refer to this as #ExpertBias.

Easy for you is not necessarily easy for anyone else.

Mint is easiER than some other distros, but it is not easy.

Changing your OS means changing your apps, too.

I think that writing in an actually understandable way is more difficult than writers often think. Some of it is probably related to expert bias which basically means that when you're an expert (= when you know something), it's very easy to be blinded by your own knowledge. The expert assumes a lot of what the reader might already know and skip explaining things that probably should be explained. Tiny pointers are often good explainers: see above how I opened the usage of the term "expert" in the context of this post. Of course everyone knows what expert means but you get the idea. I try to take one more breath to read and think about how my writing would seem to the reader. Of course, it's also a matter of finding the sweet spot for the target audience. In this platform, however, we can't really know our target audience well. Hence, I feel like it's a good idea to think about this matter a little bit. At least I like the idea that as many people as possible would understand what I'm saying - without having to spend time to read the post many times :)
