I found and reported 91 suspicious #Snap packages today. I have lost count of the total number of packages I have identified and reported, but it is certainly over 100.
This time they were all #ExodusWallet info stealers.

We were using Exodus wallet to keep track of donations made on Pendulums. Today, after an update, they said we cannot use Exodus for some reason. I'm not even angry because Exodus is a self-custody wallet, so we have our own key. They have also provided a way for us to back up our key to migrate to another wallet. Here is the reason why I always encourage others to use a self-custody wallet. We are safe now, and we can still receive donations on Pendulums.

Edit: There’s a short follow-up to this post: Exodus Bitcoin Wallet: Follow up. tl;dr: A Bitcoin investor was recently scammed out of 9 Bitcoin (worth around $490K) in a fake “Exodus wallet” desktop application for Linux, published in the Canonical Snap Store. This isn’t the first time, and if nothing changes, it likely won’t be the last. This post turned out longer than I expected. So if you don’t have the time there’s a briefer summary at the bottom under “In summary (the tl;dr)” along with my suggestions on what Canonical should do now.
