I had all of the parts for my old Omega B22 XL enlarger that I used in the 70s. I cleaned up everything I could reach and assembled it for the first time in 50 years. I think I want to upgrade my easel to a four-blade one, but I'll manage with what I've got for now. Here's a before and after(s).

This image of my #photo #enlarger in action...not lol. This is supposed to be my cleanest room but I just did a photography screw up.
Trying #chiba #CarbonTransfer on my #diy #projector #enlarger. I did some #cyanotype on Sunday after completing my makeshift stand. Now before I do anything else I want to just practice practice practice. I basically got a set of prints I want to repeat until I run out of #glop materials. I'm using #gelatin but I've noticed a bunch of guys changing to titebond #HideGlue or generic. Maybe the polymerize is more effective or something. So I'll try that one day.

Finished the #projector stand for my #digital #enlarger for #cyanotype.

It's wobbly if you shake it, but overall sturdier than having it on the floor. It's more convenient having it as a table. I have a mini table to make tiny prints and a big table for large prints. Overall it's a good idea.

This weekend I worked a little bit on the #cyanotype #enlarger stand. I'm just going to put the #projector up as if was an enlarger light source over a table. So I got this slider locking system made out of scrap #wood from some recent house work. Last night I assembled it and it slides very nicely! It also locks pretty good 👍.

Back to the #cyanotype #dlp #projector #enlarger project 😜.

Today I started from my previous goal of bypassing the lamp for a whole 20 seconds before it gives me the red LED of death. I corrected timing and I am able to keep it on for an entire 45 seconds now.

I think that this is when video starts and it's expecting the clock signal which I haven't been able to replicate in my main program but have done separately. So that's my next goal. Hopefully that's the last piece of the puzzle.

#3dPrinting: Durst M605 Reproadapter

For my #Durst #M605 colour #enlarger I needed an adapter to attach a camera to the column and thus be able to use the enlarger as a very accurate repro stand. Unfortunately, the existing solution for the #M670 from oet does not fit, and I also find it quite difficult to print. So I constructed a new adapter from scratch that uses their camera mount, so that if you own both enlargers - which is quite pointless but nevertheless possible - you can continue to use them. The adapter itself follows simple shapes and can be printed without supports.

Simple Photo Enlarger Makes Great Addition To Any Darkroom

Chemical-based photography can seem like a dark art at times, but it needn't be so. [Dan K] developed the Simple Enlarger to help spread the idea that classical photographic darkroom tools are fundamentally quite easy to understand and build.

The assembled enlarger.

A photographic enlarger illuminates a negative with light, and focuses this light on a sheet of photographic paper which can then be developed. [Dan's] enlarger design is intended to be built using materials readily available from any dollar store or stationer's shop, and can be built in just a few short hours. It's built to work with a single film format and with a fixed size of photographic paper for simplicity's sake.

A simple M-mount camera lens is pressed into service for the main optic, with the ex-Soviet part chosen for its easy focusing and cheap price. A small plywood box makes a decent body, and a white phosphor LED provides the light source. The final rig is designed to print 35mm negatives on to standard 8×10 paper.

If you want to get into developing your own negatives and don't want to buy a commercial enlarger, [Dan]'s build could be just the way to go. We've seen some other similar builds before, too. Meanwhile, if you've got your own nifty darkroom hacks, be sure to drop us a line!
