#ElbowsUpTech Announcement: CoSocial Mastodon is migrating our Mastodon to @fedihost later this month (est: Wed December 17, 2025).

Following months of research, feedback, and consultation with members and the Board, our TechOps working group recommended we enter into an agreement with FediHost and we signed one for them to manage the server a few days ago.

I started looking into what it would take to run a diy HA #PostgreSQL cluster and then I saw that there are a lot of good tools available and then I started to think that it might be manageable and even kinda fun to build and run and then I started to feel the suffocating weight of responsibility that comes with keeping stuff like this running when anyone other than myself cares about how well it works and then I started looking for cloud providers in Canada again.
