We demand the immediate release of EDISON YU

We the undersigned join Plant Based Treaty and Animal Save Movement in calling for the immediate release of Edison Yu, an animal rights and climate justice campaigner from Plant Based Treaty. Edison was detained by the BGC-Taguig City Police in the Philippines on June 8 2024 for taking photos of a road blockage in the lead-up to a demonstration at the Israeli Embassy in support of a Ceasefire for Gaza. Eye witnesses report that he was assaulted and detained. Edison was then transferred to Camp Bagong Diwa without informing his legal counsel or family. He is a strict ethical vegan with food allergies. Veganism is a moral position that impacts the way Edison lives his life. Veganism is his deeply held belief, which impacts what he eats, wears, etc. and that he’s a strict vegan. The Vegan Society argues that veganism is a human right.
