European Union Prize for Literature announces the 2022 winner and special mentions | EU Prize for Literature

The European Union Prize for Literature (EUPL) recognises emerging fiction writers from the European Union and beyond. Engaging the 41 countries participating in the Creative Europe programme of the European Union, the Prize celebrates 41 outstanding new literary talents across a cycle of three years. Spotlighting the creativity and the immense and diverse wealth of Europe’s contemporary literature in the field of fiction, EUPL aims to encourage the circulation of literature within Europe and encourage greater interest in non-national literary works. 

Irish🇮🇪 writer @tadhg_mac_dh is one of the nominees for the 2022 EU🇪🇺 Prize for Literature📚 for his novel Madame Lazare.

Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin | EU Prize for Literature

Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin writes books, screenplays and songs for both adults and children. He was awarded Gradam Uí Shúilleabháin, Irish-language Book of the Year 2015 for Mise Raiftearaí an Fíodóir Focal, his literary biography of the poet Antaine Ó Reachtabhra. Writing for children includes the mythological adaptations Fionn agus na Fianna (An Gúm, 2006-2009), and the picture books Uinseann Donn and Dainín (Futa Fata).
