Growlers are electronic warfare aircraft; the EA-18G is a highly specialised Wild Weasel variant of the Super Hornet naval fast jet.

There are plenty of bog-standard Super Hornets available; there were only 153 Growlers in USN service. One might question whether high-risk close formation flying of these expensive, relatively rare aircraft at air shows should be a top priority for the USN?
