Do you run OSR games RAW (rules as written) or do you use houserules?

In a #DungeonMasterpiece video, Baron de Ropp said that he plays RAW because he treats the rules as a sort of contract with the players to keep things fair. This made me rethink my stance on houserules.

Thankfully with #BasicFantasyRPG, I can still get to do things like separate race/class, ascending AC, character creation options, save vs death, save vs poison, ability checks, etc. because these are all in the core book.

"D&D" rpg vlgs focus (more or less humorously) on "D&D" problems and idiosincracies and how GMs and Players can bend over backwards to "fix" them.

And people seem fine with this.
