The Aura Road has been opened...

A crossover that's been stuck in my head since I watched Aura Battler Dunbine last year. I'm incredibly amused at the idea of Bern and Todd getting incredibly mad at this weird dog thing constantly besting them.

Current plan was to have this Lucario exiting the Dunbine's cockpit, but the troubles I mentioned in a previous post with the Dunbine itself means that this is mostly unfinished. Not to say I'm giving up, but it was putting me on tilt, so I think it's best to move onto something else for now.

Now, to not be all gloom, I really enjoyed designing the battler outfit to "fit" something not human, and to give the feeling of someone kind of hacking something together. First time messing with cloth folds like this, I'm really proud of the sleeves. I wanted to do like boots or shin guards but I couldn't get something that I liked, maybe for a future iteration. Also, as a laugh, rather than using the standard Lucario colors, I color picked from the Billbine from the last two episodes.

Oh! Forgot to mention that tail. I can't believe I just drew that with minimal adjustments needed.

I do not claim to be a #gundam expert, but 富野 由悠季「tomino yoshiyuki」created not just Gundam, but also 聖戦士ダンバイン「sei senshi danbain」(Holy Warrior Dunbine aka Aura Battler #Dunbine) which I thought pleasantly blurred the lines between technology and magic, akin to Arthur C. Clarke's "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."
