I tried the half knitted jumper on and happily it fit me just fine. Then I found the DPNs I needed to get the sleeve going.

The stitch marker needed to be at the start of the round, but that was at the end of one of the needles where it would fall off so I moved it back a stitch and worked a couple of rounds of the colour work. Then I came back a few days later and knit some more but found I had an off by one error in the pattern. Oops, forgot about that offset marker! I unknit a bit, moved the stitches about so the marker was in the right place and not at the end of a needle and I’m back in business again.

I was bored with knitting the white body but I’m now pleased to be back to the plain white again after that!

#Knitting #WIPWednesday #DropsBardu

Now there’s more daylight here’s a #WIPWednesday pic of my #DropsBardu #knitting with the colours looking reasonably true to life. It’s been a while. Knitting round and round in one colour does not hold my attention.

I’m at the point where the pattern is telling me to stop knitting the body and do the ribbing at the bottom. I’m actually going to do the sleeves first so I can lengthen the body a bit if I have enough yarn. Though I haven’t actually tried it on yet either. I’ll do that once the stitches are secured on a thread.

Now I need to find the right size DPNs to start on the sleeves from the box of needles that should be organised but never actually are, no matter how I leave them!

Into the boring round and round in white bit of the jumper, going down the body. I didn’t think I’d knit that much this week but the photographic evidence is that I’ve probably not knit much less than during any other week. There are less stitches on the needles now though than when I was working on the yoke.

I’ve split the sleeve stitches off from the body on my #DropsBardu jumper this week. And have just reached the end of the colourwork. It’s all off-white on the body from here on. Which ought to be faster but I tend to think I keep going for longer when knitting patterns as it’s fun to see them emerge.

Ajay’s been helping too obvs.

I think I haven’t made a lot of progress but then I look back at last week’s photo and I’ve added a blue band with white dots and a grey band with a sea blue pattern since then. Good stuff!

I’m not sure you can tell the off-white of the uppermost band from the pearl grey of the lower band in the photo. In fact I’m not sure that you can tell in decent light either. The grey band might just end up looking like it’s a bit dirty. Hopefully it looks ok when it’s completed though!

Here’s the #DropsBardu jumper I’m #knitting for #WIPWednesday I’ve switched from the denim blue background to a white background with a sea blue pattern. And I’m just starting on a bit with a sea blue background. It’s about 20cm of yoke now.

I missed the daylight to photograph my jumper for #WIPWednesday so the blue here is a pretty lousy representation but you can see the colour work starting. The first narrow band of dots are in a different colour (fog) to the wider later band (pearl grey). I find that it’s difficult to see exactly how the colour work looks until you are well past knitting it. It doesn’t look right until there’s a few more rows to put it in context.

Well it’s not #WIPWednesday any more but this is my work in progress that I started yesterday that I didn’t have any daylight to photograph. I wanted a reason to record the progress all the same.

It’s the neckband of a jumper in Drops Air, denim blue. I bought this yarn three years ago shortly before we got into house moving mode and now have no idea what I was planning to knit with it. I have lots of off white and four different shades of grey and blue. This is the darkest.

I’ve found one of the free Drops patterns #DropsBardu that I like, have a rough idea for how I’m using the colours, let’s see how it goes.

I’d kind of forgotten how super relaxing #knitting is since my last project (one blanket too many) has been stalled forever. Now I just want to knit & knit!
