I am now reading #19thCentury #DressReform primary sources & wonder:
Has the date of dramatic shift (as it were) from linen to wool as most-virtuous underwear fabric been pinpointed as to WHEN and BY WHOM?

And WHY? Hygenic, healthy, were the claims, yes; but what moral and economic criteria were involved, bc moral reformers gonna moralize + capitalism is.
