Drawpile development update for the last two weeks: https://docs.drawpile.net/devblog/2026/05/25/dev-update
After beta release last week, there's been some more development: you now get thumbnails for dpcs and dppr files in the Windows file explorer, touch taps can be assigned to more actions and a few bugs have been fixed.
Drawpile 2.3.1-beta.1 is out: https://drawpile.net/news/release-2.3.1-beta.1/
New features are autorecovery, timelapses, a bunch of animation features, better Android support with special workarounds for a number of devices and an improved stabilizer, plus many fixes. Fully compatible with 2.3.0, so no need to make everyone in a session update to it.
Here's an illustrated guide on what's new: https://docs.drawpile.net/help/common/update2x3x1

There's many new features, fixes and performance improvements. However, like the small change in version number implies, it is fully compatible with the previous version. You don't need to make everyone else update to continue drawing with them.

Mostly lots of bugfixes before hopefully a 2.3.1-beta.1 release this week.
But otherwise, the Drawpile git repositories have been mirrored to #Codeberg rather than being anchored to GitHub. Both places can be used to report issues and provide pull requests: https://codeberg.org/Drawpile/
Development update: https://docs.drawpile.net/devblog/2026/04/27/dev-update
Last week was mostly spent at #lgm2026, but there have been several bugfixes, performance improvements and a feature to make the stabilizer more comfortable to use.
Translations have also been opened for version 2.3.1-beta.1, if you want to help translate Drawpile into your language, you can do so with #weblate at https://hosted.weblate.org/engage/drawpile/

The last week was mostly spent at the Libre Graphics Meeting. The week before, some smaller things were added before translations were opened, you can help translate Drawpile on Weblate. I also did some thinking on how filters could work in Drawpile, since it is a topic that came up in multiple places recently.
