I found the issue which caused random #hangups on my #server after adding more #memory.

It turned out the old memory chips replaced were slower, which increased the rate of all chips from 1333 MHz to 1600 MHz. The spec #CAS latency was 9-9-9 for the former, 10-10-10 for the latter. #BIOS still had the old setting of 9-9-9. This made the memories effectively #overclocked, and caused #lockups every 24-48 h.
