Funding more and aquaintances who #DontSayCovid.

It's looking like #ReligionGenderPoliticsAndCovid have replaced religion, sex and politics as "not to be discussed" in casual conversation.

Wondering how much the brain damaging effects of Covid have to do with this and how much is down to the #RiseOfTheRight.

I'm looking for comparisons and reviews on air purifiers. (For a 10' x 10' outdoor vendor tent) and ALL I see in the articles is

✅ Wildfire smoke

✅ Smog

✅ Allergens

No mention of pathogens, much less viruses or #Covid 🙄 #DontSayCovid

Meanwhile at the #CBC, they're uncritically publishing "expert" dreck like "We're going to have more infections among the population this year, partly because our immune systems haven't been stimulated by this group of infectious agents over the last three or four years."

C'mon CBC. The last 3 or 4y have had historically high levels of RSV, influenza and other respiratory diseases in most Canadian areas.

And no mention of immune senescence after #SARS-CoV-2. That story broke years ago.

So, CBC, we go back, I care about you, but if you can't do the most basic fact checking it feels like you're trying to harm yourself and others, and I'm worried about you.

Another "expert": it's just mucus from previous infections, "All of that gunk has to be coughed out."

Oh and "Some people … get to the point of actually using inhalers for asthma," Abdulla said. "Not only do they have a cough, but they also have some wheezing and airway restriction."

Just like in years past, right, where if we didn't catch a cold for a couple of years, we might be coughing for months and suddenly need an asthma inhaler. Those good ol' days!

One news station reporting a significant unexplained 🙄 outbreak of Strep A especially in children.

A second news station reporting on how we need to plan & prepare for "the next pandemic". As if the current one was over. As if the next one won't go exactly like this one.

At the same time.

Biosecurity talking heads discussing preparing for the next pandemic need to acknowledge the colossal failure of the current response. Especially after a stellar pre-pandemic readiness report card.

They need to call out the decimation of public health as a societal risk management function & the intense existing incentive structures aligned to make it go exactly the same way again.

Biosecurity people who can't say COVID or acknowledge the current state of air safety & security are not credible.

Not once, in either report, did anyone say #COVID
