Here's a little throwback to the 2nd International PhD Student and… | Department of Digital Humanities

Here's a little throwback to the 2nd International PhD Student and Researcher Conference on “The Exercise of Power and its Limits: Dissent, Contestation and Repression from Antiquity to Contemporary Age”, hosted by the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II (UniNa) / University of Naples Federico II where Franziska Decker presented her latest research. 🔍 Her talk — “Comparative Analysis of Authorization Formulas in Late Medieval Notarial Charters Using Digital Methods” — explored how imperial and papal authority was expressed in notarial documents, and how digital tools can uncover patterns of delegated power and legitimacy in historical records. The conference brought together scholars from across disciplines to reflect on how power has been exercised, negotiated, and resisted throughout history — from ancient Rome to modern times. A great example of how digital humanities can offer fresh perspectives on long-standing questions! We'd like to thank Giuseppe Consolo for making this unique opportunity possible!
