@LovesTha @alcinnz #FreeSoftware / #FreeSW goes beyond #OpenSource / OSS, since it also cares to prevent #DigitalHandcuffs such as #DigitalRestrictionsManagement / #DRM and #RestrictedBoot. Besides, #OpenSource misses this and other points, as explained in https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/open-source-misses-the-point.html and https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-open-overlap.html . Also, most basic levels of certification don't require turning the software non-free.
Why Open Source Misses the Point of Free Software - GNU Project - Free Software Foundation

@alpine_thistle @hisham_hm On the other side there is a mix of #OpenSourceInitiative / #OSI and its followers, but also some which incorrectly label things as "open". #OSI supports #DigitalHandcuffs such as #DigitalRestrictionsManagement / #DRM and #RestrictedBoot ( e.g. some #Android and modern computers have it), FSF doesn't. #OpenSource is a development method favoring lax / non-copyleft licenses and so sacrificing freedom of the software. FSF accepts #SecureBoot.
@njoseph Unfortunately #OprnSource misses the point as it doesn't care to educate people on the same issues as #FreeSoftware does. Besides, the Open Source Definition, kept by Open Source Initiative, doesn't address #DigitalHandcuffs such as #DRM or the more elaborated forms such as those in many phones that deny the user the freedoms 0 and 1 (to adapt and reuse that in the same unit).
@josemurilo I agree with @aral about the fact that the author confused things. #FreeSoftware (consider only the 4 freedoms of the functional data, to simplify) == #copyleft + lax license + protection against #DigitalHandcuffs ( #DRM, #RestrictedBoot, etc) - community oriented #copyleft enforcement. #OpenSource (-1/-2 freedoms) == #FreeSoftware - protection against #DigitalHandcuffs - community oriented #copyleft enforcement.
