Listening to Calendar Days for the first time was like being splashed in the face with cold water — in a good way. The totally natural way Steph Hughes sings the words “home” and “window” in the first few lines is killer and I like it more and more each time I hear it. I don’t know whether Dick Diver is still making music together; it seems like their last album was released quite a few years ago. I could, of course, just do an internet search and find out but I’m trying to just let them be a musical thing for the time being. I have clear idea of what tyre rubber blooming around someone’s legs is supposed to look like and I’m quite happy with that.
