The Chairman of the European Parliament’s Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) Committee has written to the European Commissioner, Didier Reynders, to warn that the UK’s Data Protection and Digital Information (DPDI) Bill is close to being passed despite its potential to undermine the UK adequacy decisions under the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) and Law Enforcement Directive (LED).
