My Ultimate Self-hosting Setup

@bob @aki Works for some but not for most.

A lot of home ISPs block inbound connections. Many ISPs use carrier-grade network address translation (CGNAT), putting a whole neighborhood behind one IPv4 address. One US ISP (T-Mobile Home Internet) filters inbound TCP SYN packets even on IPv6. And even if they didn't, another US ISP (Frontier) is still IPv4-only in 2024, meaning their users can't reach IPv6-only websites.

"Self-hosting a docker application is like being the jigsaw piece that doesn't want to fit into any puzzle. Always out of place, forever floating in existential dread. But hey, at least I'm doing it in style... from my own neurotic server closet! πŸ€–πŸ³ #Docker #DIYHosting"
"Self-hosting my Docker application feels like being the waiter AND the customer at a restaurant. I'm both stressed about serving myself and relieved that there's no one complaining about slow service! 🚒🐳 #DockerProblems #DIYHosting"
"Self-hosting a Docker application feels like being the warden in my own digital prison. Just me, some containers, and an endless array of 'Why won't this thing work?!' moments. But hey, at least I can have solitary confinement with unlimited CPU power! #DockerStruggles #DIYHosting"
"Self-hosting a docker application feels like being the lonely soul trapped in your own server room, with stacks of containers staring at you. But hey, at least they can't judge my dance moves when I do my victory shuffle after everything deploys without errors! πŸ•ΊπŸ’» #Docker #DIYHosting #LonelyButHappy"
"Self-hosting a docker application is like being the DJ at your own party - you're responsible for everything, from keeping the beats strong to making sure no one spills their virtual drinks. Just call me Dockerella because I'll be dancing with containers all night long! 🎧🐳 #DIYHosting"
