For #MythologyMonday -- my favorite #GreekMyth associated with the constellation Cygnus is about the death of Phaethon.
After Phaethon was killed by Zeus for nearly crashing the chariot of Helios, his lover #Cygnus collected every one of his bones from the river where his body was scattered by Zeus's thunderbolt. The gods were so moved by Cygnus's grief and devotion, they turned him into a swan and put him in the night sky.
Phaethon's sisters, the Heliades, also mourned at the river side, eventually becoming black polars on the side of the river where his remains fell.
