I guess he's done the math that it is more profitable to have other people buy and operate them vs Tesla just cranking them out and operating them.
He'll cream a healthy profit off the sale, charge owners for insurance, charge them for refueling away from home base, and take a healthy slice of every fare plus some monthly fee.
The Tesla "cybertaxi" launch was a bit of a joke that ended with a faked ride off into the distance for Musk. But even if he pulls out off I'm still a #NeverTesla #EverythingButTheElon kind of guy.
Why? Because I loath neo-fascists who pal around with #DonableLecter like an excited kid at the candy store.
So I nearby rename his beloved "cyber taxi" to the "fashy taxi" and friends don't let friends ride in fashy taxies.

It’s all smoke and mirrors. Even the robots entering the venue looked ridiculous and unsteady on their feet.
Hence the 8% dip of the stock this morning (could get worse).
Few believe he will manage L4 FSD next year. Maybe L3 would be possible, with half the technology of Mercedes-Benz? 🤷♂️
Even fewer believe these #Cybertaxi will get built in 2026 at $30K.
