Just wrapped up another pair of anime series!

My rewatch of Croisée in a Foreign Labyrinth was well worth it, being even more delightful than I remembered it. The last episode gave me the feels, and it's another of many series that I wish were twice as long so I could live in that world a little bit longer.

Also finished up Index II, which brings me two-thirds of the way through my Raildex journey, with the Index movie, Index III, and Railgun T remaining. As mentioned before, Accelerator is not part of what I'm watching for this project, but the character of Accelerator is featured in enough arcs during Railgun and Index that I don't think I'm missing that much. I also seem to remember reading that another season of Railgun is in the works, so that's something to look forward to in the more distant future, too.

A few things I had forgotten about Croisée which made me like it so much, which I have been quickly reminded of three episodes in:

- How adorable Yune is, and how she makes many contemporary expressions in what is otherwise a period piece.
- On a related note, how the occasional anachronisms don't detract much from the fact that it is a period piece.
- How prominent the cultural exchange between France and Japan aspect is in the series.
- Everyone in the series is actually speaking French even though it's in Japanese.
- How they got the most French guy ever to do the French language episode prologues.

It's also a very relaxed series to begin with, so it's very easy to unwind while watching it.

As I was scanning my anime shelf for my next series to watch, La Croisée dans un Labyrinthe Étranger caught my eye. I think it's about eight years since I first watched it, so now is a good time for a rewatch, since I'll have forgotten most of it by now!

It's a series which takes place in Paris in the late 1800s. From what I remember, a young Japanese girl named Yune becomes an apprentice at a craftsman's shop. But the best part I definitely remember is that there's a another character, a French girl about Yune's age, who is a complete otaku. I remember it being fun watching that character type being interpreted in a late Victorian setting.
