My six month journey through the Raildex reached its end today as I wrapped up A Certain Scientific Railgun T. While it is not the chronological end of what has been released of the series so far, it was a far better way to cap things off than Index III would have been.

I look forward to future installments, as I'm pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that a fourth season of Railgun is in the works. And if there's another Index, I hope the pacing issues from Index III are addressed when they map it all out.

Here are the next two picks from my anime shelf to watch:

First up, I'm in the mood for something with idols (maybe it's my nightly Umamusume sessions), so it's time for a rewatch of AKB0048, the official anime project for AKB48. The sub-unit NO NAME was created just for the show! This is a series which is far better than it ever needed to be, and I suspect it's because of Shoji Kawamori's involvement. That puts Escaflowne and Macross in the show's pedigree, after all.

Next, and this should be no surprise, is a rewatch of A Certain Scientific Railgun T to cap off my six month or so journey through the Raildex. After the warp speed chaos of Index III, this will be a welcome return to a series with a fully formed story and characters. And of course, one of my overall favorite anime characters, Mikoto Misaka, is back in the spotlight.

Index III has so many moving parts (and new characters) that I think I've lost track of the story.

It's been entertaining enough to watch, but I'm not sure what's going on anymore.

I'll be glad to get back to a more focused story when I wrap up my Raildex journey with Railgun T once I finish Index III.

Time once again to pick my next two anime series to watch.

First up is a rewatch of Gakuen Alice, a series I haven't seen in a very long time. It's a showcase piece for my favorite seiyuu, Kana Ueda, who plays the lead character Mikan. It's a story about a magical school which has a bit of a dark secret...

Next should be no surprise as I continue through the Raildex with Index III. Looking forward to see how things go next, leading into Railgun T, which I have already forgotten large parts about since I first watched it several years ago.

The Index movie seemed to be more spectacle than substance, but it was still a fun, action-packed diversion in the Raildex, with most of the regular characters making at least a brief appearance. I didn't notice Maika, though... one of my favorite side characters for her unusual habit of sitting on a robot which spins around while talking to anyone.

An aspiring idol being one of the major characters was a fun twist, and worked out nicely for I'VE SOUND, the music production unit which does the Raildex BGM and Index's theme songs.

Just wrapped up another pair of anime series!

My rewatch of Croisée in a Foreign Labyrinth was well worth it, being even more delightful than I remembered it. The last episode gave me the feels, and it's another of many series that I wish were twice as long so I could live in that world a little bit longer.

Also finished up Index II, which brings me two-thirds of the way through my Raildex journey, with the Index movie, Index III, and Railgun T remaining. As mentioned before, Accelerator is not part of what I'm watching for this project, but the character of Accelerator is featured in enough arcs during Railgun and Index that I don't think I'm missing that much. I also seem to remember reading that another season of Railgun is in the works, so that's something to look forward to in the more distant future, too.

There's something I never thought would happen in the Raildex... a story arc in Index II is actually making me almost like Accelerator a little bit.

Starting to rewatch Railgun to decide if it's still my favorite anime after all these years

(Spoilers: it is)

Is Railgun Still My Favorite Anime? - Railgun Rewatch Reaction Part 1 | Jacen Sekai

Beware of "A Certain Scientific Railgun" spoilers "A Certain Scientific Railgun" was one of the first anime I ever watched, and it has continued to hold up to scrutiny on every rewatch I've done. However, with how much of a masterpiece I claim that "BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!!" is, can I still call it my favorite? There's only one way to find out, and that's to watch it again and give a play-by-play of my thoughts.

As much as I like discovering the Index side of the Raildex, I especially enjoy when a Railgun arc shows up during an Index series, Mikoto being my favorite character and all. It's no wonder that the strictly chronological episode order for Raildex is exceedingly complicated. It makes the same thing for Haruhi Suzumiya seem relatively simple in comparison.

I'm just using a slightly modified production order of each series (except Accelerator) as a whole, and the Index movie, to make my way through.
