#CraigFinn calls Thrashing Through the Passion a comeback record—five years after the last Hold Steady LP. The characters are still screwing up, the Easter eggs are still tucked in, and the community around the band is stronger than ever. “We’re just the destination,” Finn tells me. “The community doesn’t even need us anymore.”
Teeth Dreams found #TheHoldSteady cranking the amps, doubling the guitars, and admitting that yes, the bar band grew up — just a little. “It’s about anxiety,” #CraigFinn says.

Caught up with Craig Finn from The Hold Steady last night in Philly at Non-COMMvention. Always good to see one of the great storytellers in rock & roll.
Due to circumstances outside my control my ass woke up pretty early despite my best efforts to fall back asleep, so I finally listened to the new #CraigFinn album and it is really good, you should check it out. I don't think he's been this explicitly narrative over the course of an album since the early Hold Steady days.
