One of my favorite things about hiking in Newfoundland in July is when I find carpets of blooming crackerberry. I never quite feel like my photos do it justice, but this is one of my favorites.

Here’s a square I made for an art quilt a couple of years ago. This was part of a community project, with one quilt made by Indigenous people and the other by settlers and immigrants. Our squares were to show what we think is important about where we come from.
