Musical Interlude: Here's a little-known artist, Wilma Burgess, a middling country artist who never quite got the renown she deserved. Burgess was queer and it wasn't openly known, except her songs were generally about "you" rather than "him". She later operated a lesbian bar in Nashville, The Hitching Post. Here's her biggest hit.
