The argument from design. It’s a terrible argument.

An argument from geography for #atheism

• A statistically large proportion of people believe in the faith tradition they were raised with, or the one common to the area where they were born.

• If there is a true #religion, it would be true regardless of where you are raised.

• If an omnipotent #God wants people to believe in the true religion, God would make evidence or revelation available to everyone who could believe, regardless of geography.

• But the regionality of belief observed in the world is unexpected on the two prior points.

• Therefore it is unlikely that there is a true religion. It is also unlikely that there is an omnipotent God who wants people to believe in a true religion.

#CounterApologetic #atheist

An argument from non-God objects for #atheism

• If #God exists, and is perfect, a reality where only God exists is the best possible world.

• God, being perfect, should create the best possible world, which is this world with only God in it.

• But this is not the case. Our universe and many things that exist within it are not God.

• Therefore a perfect God does not exist.

#CounterApologetic

An argument from divine hiddenness for #atheism

• If #God exists, God wants to have a loving relationship which each of us created beings.

• If God is omnipotent, God has the ability to tell each of us exactly the thing we would need to know so that we, of our own free will, would choose to enter into a loving relationship with God.

• Some people do not have a loving relationship with God, and many do not even have enough information to believe that God exists.

• Thus God, as defined above, does not exist.

#CounterApologetic

@lack I do like this one! :) I've been listening to #CounterApologetic videos quite a bit lately for some reason. I like this one (specifically against the imho rather silly modal argument), and also I like "is there free will in Heaven? is there sin?" and "Does God have free will?" sorts of questions.

Also I am proud of https://ceoln.wordpress.com/2020/10/20/the-ontological-argument-for-the-existence-of-the-z2500-rocket-car-in-my-basement/ (although it's rather obvious)
