Court finds 'vile' posts by Council Watch head not political commentary

It's official: Dean Hurlston is an appalling creep. He's found by the courts to have been stalking and harassing the Mayor of Stonnington, Melina Sehr, for six years. Over that time, he also targeted three other current and former female Stonnington councillors.

Dean Hurlston was trying to hide behind the excuse of "political discourse or public-interest journalism" to make offensive statements, such as comments about the vaginas of his victims.

He's been slapped with a two year Personal Safety Intervention Order. If he breaks the court order by posting more harassing material online, he'll face time in jail. Based on his past performance, I worry he'll try it, and I firmly believe he belongs in jail.

Dean Hurlston is a creep. I've heard a first-hand account from someone targeted by Dean Hurlston and it's bonkers. They should throw the book at him. He says he's a journalist, but I think he's a serial abuser who gets-off by harassing people. It's notable that most social media posts by Council Watch fans appear to be his sockpuppet accounts.
