Heading back into #Roma this evening after that marvellous fortnight out in the #Lazio countryside. I took a last walk along the path down to the shrine (below #Cottanello) just to enjoy the birdsong, silence, and occasional scramble 🤗✨
I have been intentionally mostly offline since the 24th. Glorious it has been. The bliss of work email now being quarantined to Outlook means I’m not even tempted to peek! Instead, #gardening/project planning for #Cottanello, drinking our neighbour’s wine, and eating (oh the forno a legno maialino of Xmas…Today, Thomasina Miers’ brandy and prune fool with chocolate bark
The other great thing about this season especially is we try to maximise our time in #Cottanello, which means we are more without internet than with it since the perfectly placed ridge across from us shields us from the world (well, 4G anyway!). Digital minimalism except when we stand in the one place with signal, or head out. Totally what I need every December!
It was exhilarating to se the email autoreply sweeping into action today.
