The EU LIFE programme is ensuring the future of the corncrake as a successful breeding bird in Ireland, providing €4.3m in funding to the NPWS.

Ok here’s a wrap up of day 6 of my #Scotland #OuterHebrides tour. A road trip on #Lewis on the menu. First, Calanais standing stones, a magical neolithic site. It’s actually multiple sites, some of which are rarely visited. On a side note, I first heard and finally saw a #corncrake (kwartelkoning), quite an elusive bird 🐦
