A new species of #dinosaur unearthed on the #IsleOfWight has been named in honour of the man who found it, following his death.
The 125 million-year-old specimen was found in #ComptonBay on the Isle of Wight in 2013 by #fossil hunter #NickChase, who died of #cancer in 2019.
PhD student #JeremyLockwood determined the skeleton was a new genus and species, naming it #ComptonatusChasei in a tribute to Mr Chase.

I've only ever known my husband get to more than one location on a photoshoot on a couple of occasions. Usually there's just not the time.

My husband who takes the photos much prefers other shots from this session but in my view this is the most suitable for the calendar. Looking at the mock up he's happy with it 😁
January is always a tricky month, the calendar needs to have an impact from the get go. I wouldn't want to look at a dreary image for the most depressing month of the year.

Taken at low tide a couple of days ago. This little tug boat was wrecked in 1947.

Fortunately there was no loss of life as she was being towed away for salvage at the time.

Steps under the stars at #ComptonBay on the #IsleofWight

There is very little light pollution at this location and my husband took advantage of the clear conditions to grab this shot.

Those steps are a bit of a killer when you're heading back up from the beach!
